What to do in Cheung Chau, Hong Kong?

So glad we went to #CheungChau last weekend despite the weather forecast. It turned out great and no thunderstorms.

If you are looking to go to Cheung Chau for a day or half day, you can go via Central Pier No. 5. Tickets for the 3 of us only cost HKD44.40 one way for the slow ferry. Yes there's a fast one too but you get to see more for the slow one and also because we had Dug with us. It takes roughly 45-50 mins - which is easy if you were blogging, reading or watching an episode of tv show.

Dug was considered a freight so we had to queue behind some stock delivery men. There were a lot of people with their pets in Cheung Chau. It was pretty pet friendly.

This was Dug with his big brown eyes asking me if we were there yet. SHUT UP DUG.

He gets overly excited whenver he sees the sea. He wants to swim. NOW. So impatient. He was very naughty throughout the trip and couldn't stay focus as it was his first time in CC. So much to see and do wtf.

We went there after lunch so we got there around 4pm. Just in time for a swim, walk around and dinner.

When you see this, you know you are arriving.

We have arrived! You can see a sea of people pacing around on the street by the pier. That is the main street. Loads of street food and people. But I was saving my calories for a small snack and dinner.

If you have more time, spending your lunch time there may be a good idea too. Loads of food everywhere.

Wah people mountain, people sea!

The streets are pretty old school and quaint. Loads of people on bikes and didn't know how to ride them properly. This indicates that there's a bike hiring place on the island. If that is your thing, knock yourself out.

We hit the beach first because stupid Dug was acting crazy at this point running towards the sea. We had to go to the far end of the beach where dogs were allowed. Quite dirty but anything for the silly dog.

The human side very clean but our side...okay la the view very nice and then there were rubbish behind me.

Whole time I was going like,"DUG NO NOT THERE. DUG! HONEY MAKE HIM STOP SNIFFING THE GARBAGE!!"

It was very stressful at that point.
Anyway, Dug calmed down after he got to swim and loads of tourist come to take photos of him. There were individual people coming and then they were groups.

They haven't seen dogs swam in real life I think.

I only managed to get my phone ready for this after some of them are done. Sometimes, going out with Dug would mean that we have to stop for photos. People always go like,"CAN I HAVE A PHOTOUU WITH YOUR DOG PLEASE???? WAHH FANKIUUU SO CUTE SO BIGGGG!"

This was before the photos taking.

They swam for about 45 mins before I started complaining that I was hungry.

Also, apparently these are haunted.

A lot of people took selfies and group photos in front of these walls, so I guess it is iconic right?

At last, I can haz foods. These are their famous giant curry fishballs. It was really good. Bouncy and sweet.

After that we went and look around for live seafood because J said their Lobster Cheese Yee Mee is good but the restaurants don't serve lobster unless you BYO. Some do but they were ridiculously overpriced.

The stall we wanted to buy from ran out. So we had to go to this cocky asshole down the road to buy. This stall is right at the beginning before the row of restaurants begin.

If J didn't use his charm and cute boy face to convinced me, we wouldn't have bought it. I strongly urge you not to buy from them. We paid HKD250 for it and seriously with his attitude, I'm not sure if I would want it if it was free. But I love my bf and he really wanted his Lobster Cheese Yee Mee. So we bought it. Also, it was kinda my fault cos I wanted curry fishballs and when we got to the right stall they just sold the last one.

If you are there early, the right store is next to HSBC!

We did some touristy stuff like taking photos with a bunch of fishing boats before dinner.

The row of restaurants after the cocky seafood stall are very pushy. And after surveying, we went with the one who didn't push as much but had people sitting in for a meal already.

I don't read Chinese and there were no obvious sign but you can spot their greenish blue tableclothes. That was where we ate.

Started off with some delicious calamari.

Super fresh lobster with cheese yee mee! (Sorry lobster!)

Bad angle but this steamed fish was so good. I ate the whole thing alone cos J don't like eating steamed fish. Hohoho!

Finally, chilli fried crab with garlic. This was very disappointing cos the crab have no flesh inside wtf..overcooked so whatever little flesh that was left inside was stuck to the shell. We had to pay HKD30 for this cos they don't have it on the menu I ordered from..so sad.

Finally Dug did his fave thing on the ferry and we headed home.

Cheung Chau was quite filthy in a way, so the 3 of us had to shower together once we got home.

What a day!

Melbourne: Cafe Cavallino

I tried writing about day one of the trip but I was so distracted. When we are back at our room I am super tired. All I can think about is sleeping wtf.

So probably try to do some today. It has been prettt fun so far. Not sure if it is #Melbourne or my #Sisterhoodies.
Last night I fell alseep within minutes but I had nightmares throughout my sleep. I suspect it is because our room is pretty warm with the heater on.

Anyway, last night we had the most amazing pasta. I liked it so much. We ordered the basic spaghetti meatballs and it was so awesome.

@yuennyyee brought us to the 'Little Italy' of Melbourne. There were so many restaurant to choose from and we picked Cafe Cavallino. Everything there was so good.
This was how the restaurant looked. Yup another table of possibly Malaysians. I felt very at home in Melbourne because there were so many Malaysians and the ample Asian food selection. There are no real feelings of a holiday so far. Everything felt very familiar other than directions.

The upside of this is that I now live in #HongKong so this is probably a good thing.
We started with some sweet bread.
Yuen's cold cut.
Split pea soup.
Best spaghetti meatballs ever. Karen and I ordered the main size to share. It was more than enough. What a great dish. Better than the pastas I had in #Italy.
Yuen's seafood spaghetti was so good too. Writing about it now makes me want to go back for more.
We finished off with some Nutella Banana Crepe with ice cream. We had to share it. It was huge! AND SO GOOD!

We decided to skip the tram and walk back to our room to burn some calories.

We spent a total of AUD90 here plus tips. I would say that it was very worth it.
