Super Fish, Tolworth - Anniversary Dinner

On the way to work now.

J and I just passed our 3 years mark. He was so sweet. He got me a gift but it hasn't arrived and he got me this cute card yesterday. I told him not to get flowers this year cos I want something I can keep.

He is such a creative person, not sure why he ended up in recruitment hahaha he is no artist but he comes up with the best taglines and silly song lyrics. And funny doodles!

He cracks me up!

Add dog here..

3 years may not feel like a long time for other people but it certainly felt that way for us. We have been through so much.

Reading his message in the card made me tear up. We did move mountains to be together.

Spouse of J YS Hon.

He is super proud that was stamped and printed on my visa and passport. When he first saw it he called me spouse of J Y S Hon for a few days with a silly smile hahaha

It took me awhile to understand his love for me. I use to mistake his teasing as not loving me..then I realized that, THAT is the way he loves me.

Yesterday he told me he can't imagine his life without Dug and me. Honestly, I feel the same. Through thick and thin we have been.

Every year we did something grand for our anniversary but this year it fell on a Wednesday and we wanted to do something we both will enjoy but not necessarily grand.

I have wanted to try Superfish for awhile now so that was where we went last evening. Authentic fish and chip restaurant.

Super old school, they served sweet shrimp and bread..

My order. Cod and chips!

So much carbs but so good...mine is a small one. Lucky I didn't order big wtf

Bad #foodporn photo cos the spoon is in the way hahaha

He ordered a lemon sole and chips.

He so nice lor, peeled shirmps for me. Usually I look after him at home. Cut up all his meat for his lunch boxes. So felt quite loved also haha

Mandatory silly anniversary photo 1.

Mandatory silly anniversary photo 2.

I love you so much @milkystainz! Thank you for everything.

I still owe you your gift!

I bought him something but it wasnt the right fit so I had to return it. He is amazing in getting me gifts. I am the lousy half when it comes to gifts.

Best Saturday Ever - Surrey (Denbies Wine Estate)

I had such an awesome day. I did so many new things today with Jesse.

Started off the day with #dimsum. J has been wanting some dimsum for a while now. I had my #Asian fix when I went back to #Malaysia but he didn't so the meal today was quite a treat to the both of us! We can hardly find any authentic Chinese food at our town.

#Foodporn.....not!
Some #bao time! I super love bao. #Charsiew and lotus paste are my faves.

Then we went to the nursery. I have been wanting to go to this award winning nursery that we always drove by to see flowers wtf. Very proud of @milkystainz for doing a lot of impromtu things with me today. He usually don't like to do anything unplanned hahaha
Nice or not? Actually we found out that it is just a more beautiful version of #Homebase. But still very nice la, not too hot today and nice breeze. We looked at fruit plants and what we want to do with our backyard and garden next year. This year almost end of #Summer dy so kinda weird to start now.

These are going to be in our garden next year..then @milkystainz don't need to buy roses from me anymore..can pluck from garden wtf.

Back shots are the best shots nowadays. My face damn round..i feel so fat wtf.

But yeah, apple, cherry, plum and pear trees!
Imma take a bite!!!

Then after that we wanted to go to #Aldi to buy food for next week. Since I am starting my new job next Wednesday, I need to prepare food for us both!

While we were on the way we passed that #lavenderfarm that I have always wanted to go but scared because I actually am sensitive to lavender. I get massive headache as a side effect but because I want to do it so badly..I #YOLO ed today. I thought I had to take painkillers for my period cramps anyway..so we went!
I walked through these beautiful plants in fear. I did felt a little dizzy at the beginning where the lavender was harvest but when we reached this are where the whole plant was, I can't smell it anymore.

Now I know, as long as I don't have it applied on me (bath and massages) and consume it (tea and cakes), I don't feel it as much..or maybe I was on strong painkillers so didn't feel the pain too much. Not sure..but very proud of myself nonetheless.
My handsome husband. He said the sun was blinding him. You can also spot little tourists behind.

£1 per person per entry. Not bad ah, we went in took photos and left #asap! Literally drove in, snap snap, drove away.
Yay! Crossed this off my bucket list. I always envy people doing this but thought I would die in the field. I didn't! Obviously...#survivor!!!

Or maybe thank you period. Thank you painkillers/anti-allergy. Most importantly thank you J for doing this with me. Super shiok sendiri..
Mandatory #couple #selfie for the road. Sun still in his eyes wtf.

Ok last one..I did my squats today. #cheatone

Anyway, we left after 10 mins. Not bad right? Took so many photos in 10 mins. Damn pro.

We then went to Aldi to buy food. So no photos for that. We are going to J's bff's house for bbq tomorrow so we wanted to bring #KrispyKreme over. This is my first time going to a proper Krispy Kreme cafe.
Damn awesome. Can drive thru some more. The weather was really nice this afternoon.

Freshly produced in store! I only like the original though. We bought a dozen and an ice-blended mocha to go. We were too full to have a few there but I think we will definitely come back again for coffee. After that, we went home to put all the food away and in the fridge. I had to prep and defrost food for dinner as well. We then went to Denbies Wine Estate to walk Dug.

I think only in UK I can say casually I am going to walk my dog at a vineyard. Of cos US and Aus also can..if u live near one.

The view is mad today. The last time I came was winter so I am so glad to come back again. The #vineyard looked so different every season. I love it.

I know I whine a lot wherever I am but ever since I got my job offer I feel a whole lot lighter. I think I am meant to work and not be a housewife..wtf so sad but also happy.

And while I miss Malaysia and sometimes Hong Kong, here is starting to feel more like home than anywhere else. I have always wanted to live in a scenic place like this.
Special kids wtf. They were both so happy running around, I can hardly catch up.

I love them both!
Check out the grapes growing. These are all going to be yummy wine when it ripens. When I came last, it was botak.
At one with nature!

It was such a vast space and walking around is so relaxing. Dug really loved it. He was running and dancing around a lot. It is quiet and really really nice. I enjoyed this walk a lot.
If only everyday was like this. Not too hot and not too cold.

Wanted to post this because @milkystainz is actually really good at taking back photos.

I love this photo most even though you can't really see us. We wanna picnic here next time. It is quiet and the tree is a pretty awesome tree.

And then there's the naughty man and dog. We really need a tripod for family photos.

I think Dug had the best time today. Summer is great because we can go for walks at 7pm and the sun will still be high up.

Another great Saturday gone.

We went home for dinner and a movie. I made some pasta sauce and apple sauce to freeze. What an exciting day.

Dug totally passed out when we got home. He ate and went Zzzzz...
Oh wait, before that. We took some cheesy shadow photos. I thought it was pretty cool. But also cheesy. But also cool.
#familyphoto

Ok too many photos of our awesome day. Thanks for reading. Here is Dug passed out.

Goodnight all!

Box Hill Day - Surrey

As I have mentioned here before, my husband calls me Deng..and he just sent me this, this morning when I am out...wtf..
Seriously....
Since long time never talk about wedding stuff, lemme give you all an update. When in Malaysia always super busy no time to Dayre. But in UK..too much time because no need to drive.

So what's done now:
- Venue: Berjaya Times Square Hotel KL
- Invitation cards: Super normal ones only. I went to those Chinese wedding shop and chose from their available designs
- Wedding cake: my best friend Vanisha from Nish Bakes is sponsoring me my cake...wooohoo

#dayrebrides #bridesunite
- Flowers: my friend Liz found this really good florist for me. I paid dy and they will deliver the flowers to the hotel one day before.
- Wine: My mom has ordered all the red wine for the wedding
- Music: Don't expect live band ok, my good friend Karen Mayer is going to compile my songs for me..cos if I'm the one choosing..it will be all cheesy pop songs.
- Tea Ceremony - this will be done in hotel before our wedding luncheon and my gbf who is not gay is helping me to coordinate it
So blessed to have so many good friends in my life.

Did I miss out anything for the wedding???

Oh yes, our wedding outfits..we havent bought it yet. Mainly because we are both still quite fat..not sure that if we will lose weight in time and don't want to be too ambitious to buy now wtf...fatty bom bom @milkystainz.
- Photog - Paid and done. No pre-wed photos ahhh
- Emcees: Pinky Tham and @milkystainz's bff Jason Wong will be entertaining the crowd for us.
- Slide shows and maybe a video: Karen and @yuennyyee will be helping us also!

So thankful to have them all as my friends! I think during wedding planning and prep, surrounding yourself to positive and supportive friends are very important. And most of mine really came through for me. I feel now more than ever that my friends are really good friends.
Kingston Riverside
Went to the riverside at Kingston. Came here for lunch so had a walk around before.

There's a food fair here and everything look so yummy wtf!!
Saw a lot of swans. Such a nice sunny day today 😁
Check out my husband's #ootd with his dog and alcoholic ice tea wtf. The cooler bag damn nice wtf. We just bought it today just to bring the alcoholic ice tea hahahaha only got one design damn nice. But looked super gay on @milkystainz. He didnt mind though...he colour blind ma...ahaha

I told him it looked like those mummy bags except that we are not carrying diapers and milk wtf..
That was in Box Hill. After Kingston we went home to pick Dug up to go for walks. J said that now that we are old, this is our kind of activity..........

But quite nice la actually. I quite like our family time. It is a bit too hot for me though. I didn't mind walking for hours in the shade. It is not that I don't like being tan, more like it made me dizzy and tired. So we sat down on our picnic mat for like 20 mins and we straight for walks in the woods cos too hot dy.
I got no jawline wtf.

Dug's way of saying he doesn't want a #selfie. He is super not cooperative today. I think it is too hot for him also. I'm a Malaysian, I am supposed to be good with heat..but seriously dry heat not for me wei...

I think I will enjoy the walk better when it is a few degrees colder.
Although there were a lot of people today - mainly because of the sun, I like how we still get our own space to enjoy nature and the view.

I was probably the only one distrupting the peace by shouting for Dug when he ran off to attack somebody's picnic meal wtf. So he was on his leash the whole time after that..punishment asshole.
Damn nice, can see the whole of Surrey from here. On this side of the hill la..
We tried another one in the woods..he was more cooperative by then cos he was tired dy. Initially he was hyperactive because he was overly stimulated by his surroundings.
The two love of my life! @milkystainz
Someone just woke up from a long nap. He is so smelly but we know he had loads of fun cos he was sleep barking haha

Hong Kong: Tim Ho Wan (cheapest Michelin-Starred Dim Sum)

Happy Monday!

Still have 30 mins left from my lunch break. Thought I'll take a moment to blog about my weekend.

I was very pleased to be hosting one of my closest friend in college. I missed her wedding cos I was in UK last year and since I've moved to HK, I've been a pro in missing out weddings.
Sigh. I try my best anyhow.
Not the best photo of us. We had a long day by then. Love this photo nonetheless.

She is Sujintana Mongkultanit. My first half Thai ever friend. Although her name is so Thai, she is anything but.
Okay, this is not any better.

I've known her for 8 years. Catching up about boys, life, her proposal..basicallly all the updates since we last met. I believe it was easily 3 years worth of information to process. So, I am really glad she stayed at mine for 1 night. So at least we had a good day to catch up.
Bbq Pork Bun. Slightly crunchy on the outside (very similar to the skin of polo bun) and soft in the insides.

I brought Sujin to #TimHoWan. It is a Michelin-starred restaurant. I actually stumbled upon it, ate there and realized later that it is an award winning restaurant. So, this is my go-to place when I have visitors.

The restaurant is headed by Mak Pui Gor who used to work in a three-starred restaurant, Lung King Heen at Four Seasons Hotel.
Best plain chee cheung fun I ever had.
Pan-fried Turnip Cakes. It is fluffy and you can taste the turnips. Nyum!
Chicken feet. I know my people don't eat this but it is soooo good. I promise.
The Siu Mai is good but definitely not the best I've ever had in #HongKong. Funnily, the best Siu Mai I ever had is at the dodgy dim sum restaurant on my island.
Lastly, a pretty photo of Mrs. Long. I'm so happy for you and hope to see you again real soon! Xxx

Our meal cost uz around HKD115.00 only. Which is really cheap for the quality. They don't take reservation so I recommend that people go there for dinner instead of breakfast or lunch. Much much shorter wait. We were stuffed. Thank god we didn't order more.
