Hong Kong: Very good food at ABC Kitchen, Sheung Wan

Abc Kitchen truly did not dissappoint.

I went there once and loved the food so I wanted to take my friend Poli and J there. It wasn't a popular choice as it is at a cooked food centre at Sheung Wan but I really stood my ground and won! Yay!

This is not an everyday place that a tourist would know and it is an open secret to the local and expats.

Dai bai dong style.

Maybe cos I like everything old school and believe in paying for quality food more than ambience.

You will find that they have a very laidback environment yet the service is impeccable and most importantly they serve great food. I guess Malaysians and Singaporeans can appreciate that but J just wasn't convinced.

The food is expensive for such location but for what it was and the quality, it is very reasonable.

J ordered the foie gras for his starter. Poli and I did not as we had cocktails before and didn't want to ruin our appetite for our mains.

I was busy talking and didn't take any photo of his starter but he really liked it. Yes! *do victory dance*

The suckling roast pig was what Poli ordered. I highly recommend this after trying it during my last visit. Because the chefs are Chinese, and Chinese people really know how to roast their pigs, it was done perfectly. Poli said it was juicy and tender.

J and I ordered the steak with bone marrow.

The last time we ordered this at Bistecca it cost us around HKD1500++ and it tasted like poo.

This, was cooked to perfection. Very fresh and tasty. They also got the temperature right for the beef.

So. Much. Yum.

We ended our meal with the apple and rhubarb pie.

It was such a great day today. Very pleased that we went and did whatever we planned to do.

I'm that much closer to finish my list of places to eat before we leave #HongKong.
